About Lori Goebel
Hi, my name is Lori Goebel
I’m a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother with a heart for service and education.
Raised in a small Minnesota farming town, I learned the value of hard work and community service. My Dad was a millwright for 39 years and Mom ran an in-home daycare. I graduated high school with honors.
I’ve taught and owned two martial arts studios, led Bible studies, ministered in jails and prisons, and served as Chairwoman of Loveland’s Planning Commission. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for House of Neighborly Service and am a Certified Constitution Coach.
My husband, James, and I have a combined family of five children, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. With over 30 years experience in ministry, community service and running businesses, I bring a wealth of leadership, compassion, and practical experience to the Thompson School Board – District F.
Why I’m Running
My heart aches when I think of my grandson, who moved from a top-tier school district to one at the bottom of state rankings, struggling in a system that failed to support him. That’s not just a story—it’s a fire in my soul to ensure no child in our community faces the same.
I’m running for Thompson School Board because our kids deserve better: schools that protect their opportunities, respect their teachers and equip them for life.
I’ve seen education change lives—my own, through parents who poured hours into my life and education. I’m passionate about creating schools where every child feels valued, excels at reading, and dreams big.
With care, compassion, and common sense, I’ll fight for our students, parents, and teachers to build a brighter future together.
